About Kingfisher Lake Airport
Kingfisher Lake Airport serves the remote Oji-Cree community of Kingfisher Lake First Nation in the Kenora District of northern Ontario. It functions as the community's year-round air link, supporting passenger travel, medical transport, mail and essential supplies in a region with limited road access.
Located about 2.8 kilometres southwest of the settlement, the airport has a single gravel and clay runway and a small passenger terminal. Most scheduled traffic is regional, with flights generally connecting through Sioux Lookout and nearby northern communities.
The airport is operated by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation as part of the province's remote airports network. Because of its remote setting, passengers should plan carefully and carry any necessary supplies, as on-site services are limited.
