Kanti Airport (KHM)

Kanti Airport is a small regional airport serving the town of Khamti, also written Kanti or Hkamti, in the Sagaing Region of northwestern Myanmar. It connects this remote area near the Chindwin River and the Naga Hills with major domestic hubs such as Mandalay and Yangon.

The airport handles domestic flights with a single passenger terminal and a single runway used by regional turboprop aircraft. Its compact layout keeps check-in, security, waiting and baggage collection close together, which suits the airport's low passenger volumes and straightforward regional operations.

Located about 1 km southwest of central Khamti, the airport is reached mainly by local taxi or tuk-tuk. The short distance to town makes onward travel to guesthouses, administrative offices and surrounding areas relatively quick, though transport is informal and best confirmed on arrival.

Passenger facilities are modest and practical, with basic seating, sanitation and small refreshment kiosks rather than large shops or lounges. As a gateway to the Chindwin River area, Kanti Airport plays an important role for domestic connectivity, government services and the movement of essential supplies across the region.
