About Kamloops Airport
Kamloops Airport is the main regional airport serving Kamloops and the surrounding Thompson-Okanagan region of British Columbia. Opened in 1939 and named Fulton Field in 1944 in honour of Wing Commander John 'Moose' Fulton, it connects the BC Interior with major Canadian hubs through scheduled flights.
Located about 9 km west-northwest of downtown Kamloops in the Brocklehurst neighbourhood, the airport operates a single passenger terminal handling domestic flights and providing border clearance for inbound international services. It also supports general aviation and plays a role in wildfire response operations across the region.
The airport is reached by taxi, ride share, regional shuttle and rental car, with on-site parking close to the terminal. Public transit does not currently serve the airport directly, so most travellers continue to downtown Kamloops or nearby destinations by road.
Inside the terminal, passengers can use food and beverage service, seating with airside views, local artwork and accessibility services, making YKA a compact and convenient gateway for visitors to the BC Interior.
