Kalgoorlie-Boulder Airport (KGI)

Kalgoorlie-Boulder Airport is the principal air gateway to Kalgoorlie-Boulder and the wider Goldfields region of Western Australia. It is one of the busiest regional airports in the state, supporting scheduled passenger services and a large fly-in fly-out workforce linked to the area's mining industry.

The airport has been at its current location since the new terminal opened in November 1992, after ownership was transferred from the Commonwealth Government to the Shire of Boulder in 1989. The site's aviation history reaches back to the late 1920s, when the original Kalgoorlie aerodrome was established.

Located on Hart Kerspien Drive in Broadwood, about six kilometres from the city centre, the airport has two runways, a main terminal for scheduled flights and a general aviation terminal that operates around the clock. Taxis, car hire and paid parking are available at the main terminal, and the drive into central Kalgoorlie takes only a few minutes.

Regular flights connect Kalgoorlie with Perth in just over an hour, with an additional weekly service to Melbourne. The terminal provides check-in, security screening, baggage claim and basic passenger facilities, making it a practical base for travel across the Goldfields and beyond.
