About Injune Airport
Injune Airport is a small regional aerodrome serving the rural town of Injune and the wider Maranoa Region in outback Queensland. It primarily supports general aviation, charter flights, emergency services and private aircraft rather than scheduled airline services.
Located about 2 km southwest of the town centre, the airport has a single asphalt runway and a compact apron area. Its VFR-only operations and basic infrastructure make it a practical local airfield for visitors, station owners and regional operators.
By road, Injune sits on the Carnarvon Highway about 90 km north of Roma, and the town is a recognised gateway to the Carnarvon Gorge section of Carnarvon National Park. From the airport, travellers can continue by private transfer, taxi, rental car or pre-arranged group transport.
While on-site passenger facilities are limited, Injune town provides fuel, food, accommodation and other services a short drive away. The airport's location makes it a convenient arrival point for exploring Injune, Roma, the Carnarvon Gorge and the surrounding outback Queensland landscape.
