About Hudson's Hope Airport
Hudson's Hope Airport is a municipal aerodrome located about 6 km west-northwest of Hudson's Hope in northeastern British Columbia. It primarily serves general aviation users in the Peace River Regional District and does not currently handle scheduled passenger flights.
The airfield was built by BC Hydro in the early 1960s and supported aviation activity during construction of the WAC Bennett Dam and the Peace Canyon Dam. Ownership transferred to the District of Hudson's Hope in the late 1970s, and the airport has been maintained year round since then.
The airport has one asphalt runway, 05/23, measuring 5,200 by 100 feet, at an elevation of 2,220 feet. Operations are visual flight rules only, with no fuel, lighting, customs or passenger terminal on site; aircraft parking and tie-downs are available.
Ground access is by local road, and the short drive to the Hudson's Hope town centre takes only a few minutes. The airfield supports private aviation, local travel and access to the Peace River area rather than commercial airline connections.
