About Hoskins Airport
Hoskins Airport is the main domestic air gateway to Kimbe and West New Britain Province, located near Hoskins on the island of New Britain in Papua New Guinea. It connects the province with Port Moresby and other domestic destinations across the country.
The airport was redeveloped and reopened in December 2015 following major upgrades. The project extended the runway from about 1,585 metres to 1,900 metres, strengthened aircraft pavements, widened the apron, and delivered a modernized terminal building with departure and arrival facilities under one roof, supported by perimeter security fencing.
The airport lies roughly 42 km from central Kimbe, with a normal road journey of about 40–45 minutes by taxi, private transfer or rental car. Domestic flights link Hoskins to Port Moresby and other Papua New Guinea destinations.
With its upgraded terminal and ground access to Kimbe and the wider province, Hoskins Airport serves as a practical gateway for business and community travel across West New Britain.
