The airstrip, previously known as Tower Hill Airstrip and Orange Walk Airport, was refurbished with an asphalt runway in 2014 and renamed Alfredo Martinez Chan Pine Ridge Airstrip. It operates a single runway of about 700 metres and functions as an uncontrolled aerodrome.
Located about 3 km southwest of Orange Walk Town in the Chan Pine Ridge area, the airport is reached by road and is a short taxi or private transfer journey from the town centre. Domestic services are operated by Tropic Air to Belize City.
Passenger facilities are limited and typical of a small airstrip, with a compact terminal building and basic waiting areas. The airport also serves as a practical gateway for travellers visiting nearby attractions such as the Lamanai archaeological site.
