Gunnedah Airport (GUH)

Gunnedah Airport is a small regional aerodrome located about 3.5 kilometres north of the Gunnedah town centre in north-western New South Wales, Australia. Operated by Gunnedah Shire Council, it supports general aviation, private and charter aircraft, emergency services and local business activity.

The airport has two runways: a sealed 1,646-metre runway (11/29) and a shorter grass runway (17/35). An $8.35 million upgrade completed in 2023 refurbished the tarmac, taxiway and apron, brought the facility into line with Australian civil aviation certification requirements and opened the possibility of future commercial passenger services.

There is currently no regular scheduled passenger service from Gunnedah Airport. Travellers using scheduled commercial flights generally connect through Tamworth Regional Airport, roughly 60 kilometres away, or continue by road to other centres across the region.

Passenger facilities at the aerodrome include a lounge and toilets, and taxi and hire car access is available for the short trip into town. A local aero club operates at the field, where aircraft fuel is also available, making it a practical base for private, charter and corporate flying in the Gunnedah area.
