About Guari Airport
Guari Airport is a small remote airstrip serving Guari and the surrounding Goilala District of Central Province, Papua New Guinea. It sits high in the Owen Stanley Range at an elevation of about 1,966 metres (6,450 feet) and is reached mainly by charter and mission flights rather than by road.
Construction of the airstrip began in 1964 and was completed in 1970. It has a single unpaved runway, oriented roughly 12/30, and supports high-altitude short take-off and landing operations by light aircraft such as the Cessna Caravan.
The airport lies approximately 150 kilometres from Port Moresby, the capital and nearest major international gateway. Mission aviation organisations, including the Mission Aviation Fellowship, use the airstrip to connect Guari with the capital for medical, government, community and supply needs, since road access across the region is extremely limited.
There are no conventional terminal or retail facilities, so visitors should arrange ground support and supplies in advance. Despite its remoteness, the airstrip remains an important lifeline for travel, supplies and emergency access across this part of the Owen Stanley Range.

Terminal Overview

Terminals
Guari Airport has no conventional passenger terminal building. It operates as a single remote airstrip with one unpaved runway (12/30), and passengers are handled directly at the airstrip rather than through separate domestic or international terminal facilities.
