Grand Bahama International Airport (FPO)

Grand Bahama International Airport is the main international airport serving Freeport and Grand Bahama Island, the northernmost island of the Bahamas. It functions as the primary air gateway for visitors arriving on scheduled services from the United States, Canada and other international points, as well as for inter-island flights within the Bahamas. The airport has been part of Freeport's transport network since the late 1950s and came under government ownership in 2021.

Located about 7 km (4 miles) north of central Freeport, the airport provides convenient access to the city, the Lucaya area and the island's resort and coastal destinations. Its passenger facilities include an international terminal and a domestic terminal, with the international terminal offering U.S. Customs pre-clearance for eligible travellers.

The airport is connected to the surrounding area by taxis, hotel shuttles, private transfers and rental cars. Public bus service is not generally available between the airport and hotels, so most passengers use metered taxis or pre-arranged ground transportation.

With shopping, dining, an airport lounge, Wi-Fi and other passenger services, the airport serves both leisure and business travel while supporting tourism and regional connections across Grand Bahama Island.
