About Graciosa Airport
Graciosa Airport is the main air gateway to Graciosa Island in Portugal's Azores archipelago. The airport was built in 1981 and expanded in 2001, and in 2026 it received a new single-storey terminal designed to improve passenger handling and comfort.
Located about 2 km northwest of Santa Cruz da Graciosa, the airport handles scheduled inter-island services operated by SATA Air Açores, with connections to Terceira and Ponta Delgada on São Miguel. From there, travellers can reach the rest of the Azores and onward destinations.
The single terminal has a runway designated 09/27 and includes check-in desks, security screening, a departure lounge with 100 seats, a passenger lounge, a bar and commercial areas. The compact layout keeps walking distances short and processes around 120 passengers per hour.
Ground transport to Santa Cruz da Graciosa is available by taxi, local bus and rental car, and the short distance makes onward travel around the island straightforward.
