George Town Aerodrome is a small community airport serving George Town and the northern Tamar Valley in Tasmania. Opened in 1973, it is operated by the George Town Airport Association and mainly supports general aviation, recreational flying and flight training.
Located at the mouth of the Tamar River, north of Launceston, the airfield has one sealed runway and several grass strips, along with hangars and apron areas used by private and visiting aircraft. There are no scheduled commercial passenger services, and the facility is used primarily for private, charter, aeromedical and emergency operations.
The airport lies about 3 km from the George Town town centre, with Low Head and the Bell Bay industrial area nearby. Road access connects the airfield to George Town, Low Head and Launceston, which is roughly 50 km to the south.
