About Fremantle Heliport
Fremantle Heliport is a public heliport at Rous Head in North Fremantle, Western Australia. It serves as a focused helicopter facility for rescue, charter and scenic operations rather than a conventional commercial passenger airport.
The heliport is closely associated with Surf Life Saving Western Australia, which bases rescue and beach patrol helicopters there, and it also supports private and charter helicopter movements. Its coastal position places it near Fremantle Port, the Swan River and the Indian Ocean.
Located roughly 20 km southwest of Perth city centre and a short drive from central Fremantle, the heliport is reached by road, with taxi, private vehicle and pre-arranged transfer options connecting to hotels, the port and other parts of the Perth metropolitan area.
Because it is a heliport, passenger facilities remain compact, with waiting and crew areas rather than large terminal concourses. Travelers using charter or scenic flights are generally met directly at the apron and can quickly continue their journey by road.
Terminal Overview
Terminals
Fremantle Heliport operates as a single helicopter facility rather than a multi-terminal passenger airport. It has one main apron area supporting rescue, charter and scenic helicopter operations, with no separate domestic or international terminals.
