Fairmont Hot Springs Airport is a registered aerodrome located adjacent to the resort community of Fairmont Hot Springs in British Columbia's Columbia Valley. Situated between the Purcell and Rocky Mountains in the East Kootenay region, it primarily serves private, charter and general aviation traffic rather than scheduled commercial flights.
Operated by the non-profit Columbia Valley Airport Society, the facility has a single 6,005-foot asphalt runway that can accommodate aircraft up to and including Boeing 737s. It plays an important regional role in medical evacuations, search and rescue and BC Wildfire Service staging, and is the only full-service airport between Golden and Cranbrook operating 24 hours a day.
Located on Fairmont Resort Road just off Highway 93/95, the aerodrome sits roughly 3 km from Fairmont Hot Springs Resort and about 23 km south of Invermere. The surrounding valley is known for its natural hot springs, golf courses, lakes and mountain recreation, with Radium Hot Springs about 36 km north and Cranbrook about 100 km south.
