About Courtenay Airpark
Courtenay Airpark is a small public airport located adjacent to Courtenay, British Columbia, on Vancouver Island. It serves the city of Courtenay and the wider Comox Valley, supporting general aviation, light aircraft, floatplane and helicopter operations rather than scheduled commercial airline flights.
The airport is owned by the City of Courtenay and managed by the volunteer Courtenay Airpark Association. It has a single asphalt runway and sits beside the Courtenay River, with pathways and parkland surrounding the airfield. Over time the airpark has added a floatplane ramp and docking facilities, aircraft refuelling, and a dedicated helicopter pad for air ambulance and emergency services.
Because the airpark lies close to central Courtenay, many services and attractions are within walking distance, and the town centre, shops, restaurants and accommodation are easily reached by road, taxi or private transfer.
Facilities include a pilot lounge, an ultralight flight school, aircraft maintenance services and D's Café near the main gate, making it a convenient and community-focused gateway for visitors arriving by private or charter aircraft on Vancouver Island.
