About Cóbano Airport
Cóbano Airport is a modern regional airport serving Cóbano and the southern Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica's Puntarenas province. Inaugurated in August 2023, it provides a faster connection to the popular coastal destinations of Santa Teresa, Montezuma and Mal País.
The airport is located near the town of Cóbano, roughly a 15 to 20 minute drive from Santa Teresa and a short drive from Montezuma. It mainly handles domestic flights, with scheduled services operated by airlines such as SANSA and Costa Rica Green Airways, alongside private charters.
Passenger services are housed in a single compact terminal with a café, a local goods boutique, a minimarket, a VIP lounge, car rental and taxi desks. The facility is designed to make arrivals and departures quick and easy for travelers continuing to the beaches and towns of the peninsula.
Travelers can continue by taxi, shuttle, car rental or pre-arranged transfer to hotels and communities across the Nicoya Peninsula. The terminal is open from 06:00 to 18:00, with security on site 24 hours a day.
