About Cascais Municipal Aerodrome
Cascais Municipal Aerodrome is a general aviation airport serving the municipality of Cascais and the wider Lisbon region. Opened on 11 October 1964, it was originally known as the Tires aerodrome and has since become a reference for flight training and business aviation in Portugal.
Located in Tires, roughly 20 km west of central Lisbon and about 6 km from the centre of Cascais, the aerodrome provides a convenient access point to the Estoril coast, Cascais and Sintra. It operates a single asphalt runway of approximately 1,700 metres and does not handle regular scheduled commercial airline services.
The aerodrome is reached mainly by road, with the A5 motorway and local roads connecting it to Lisbon, Cascais, Estoril and Sintra. Taxis, private transfers and rental cars are the most common onward travel options.
