About Brockville - Thousand Islands Regional Tackaberry Airport

Brockville - Thousand Islands Regional Tackaberry Airport (XBR) is a municipal general aviation aerodrome serving Brockville, Ontario, and the surrounding St. Lawrence River and Thousand Islands region. It is owned by the City of Brockville, operated by Brock Air as its fixed base operator, and overseen by the Brockville Airport Commission.

The airport is located in Elizabethtown-Kitley Township, about 9 kilometres northwest of downtown Brockville. It supports private, corporate and recreational flying rather than scheduled airline service, and is a CANPASS port of entry for Canada Customs. Its main asphalt runway, 04/22, measures approximately 4,500 feet, with a second turf runway available in summer, and gliding activity takes place on selected spring and fall weekends.

Named after George Tackaberry, whose company re-surfaced and extended the runway in 2004, the airport provides a compact terminal with a pilot lounge, washrooms, Wi-Fi and 24-hour self-service fuel. Travelers typically continue to Brockville's waterfront, Gananoque, Kingston and other riverside destinations by taxi, private transfer or rental car, while larger scheduled-airline hubs at Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto are within a few hours' drive.
