Boolgeeda Airport (OCM) is a fly-in fly-out airport serving the Brockman 4 iron ore mine in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Owned by Rio Tinto, it connects mine workers with Perth, Busselton, Geraldton and Albany and supports operations across the Greater Brockman mining precinct.
The upgraded aerodrome opened in November 2012, when the former gravel strip was sealed and lengthened to about 2.2 kilometres to accommodate Airbus A320, Fokker 100 and Boeing 737 flights. The airport operates a single runway and a compact terminal designed around scheduled FIFO services.
Boolgeeda lies roughly 200 kilometres southwest of Karratha and about 56 kilometres northwest of Tom Price. Access to the site is by road, with private transfers, hire cars and charter vehicles used to continue to nearby towns and mining facilities.
While passenger amenities are limited compared with major airports, the terminal offers check-in areas and a waiting lounge for departing and arriving workers, making it a practical gateway for the Pilbara's mining workforce.
