About Bob Quinn Lake Airport

Bob Quinn Lake Airport is a small public aerodrome serving the Bob Quinn Lake area and surrounding northwestern British Columbia. Located beside Highway 37, the Stewart-Cassiar Highway, it provides a remote aviation link for local communities, mining and exploration activity, and charter flights in the region.

A runway was first proposed in the mid-1980s, and the 4,074-foot gravel strip opened in September 1990 for private and commercial use. Today the aerodrome is operated by the Bob Quinn Lake Airport Society and serves mostly general aviation, charter and seasonal flights.

The airport has a single gravel runway (15/33) and one compact passenger facility, with limited services such as seasonal Jet A fuel. Passengers typically arrange road transport or charters in advance, as on-site rental vehicles, cellular service and scheduled public transit are limited.

It sits roughly 292 kilometres north of Kitwanga and about 115 kilometres from Stewart, with Dease Lake approximately 162 kilometres to the north, making it a practical staging point for travel across this remote northern corridor.
