The airfield has a single unpaved grass or dirt runway maintained locally, and there is no conventional passenger terminal. Located on Unea Island, the airport is roughly 134 km from Kimbe, the provincial capital on the island of New Britain. Onward travel normally combines a boat crossing with road transport, and journey times depend heavily on sea and weather conditions.
