About L.F. Wade International Airport
L.F. Wade International Airport is Bermuda's only commercial airport and the island's main international gateway. Located in St. George's Parish on St. David's Island, it connects Bermuda with destinations in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
The airport was renamed in 2007 in honour of L. Frederick Wade, a former Bermudian political leader. A modern passenger terminal opened in December 2020, replacing the previous facility and consolidating check-in, security, arrivals and departures in a single building. The airport also hosts a U.S. Customs and Border Protection pre-clearance facility.
The airport sits roughly 16 km (10 miles) northeast of Hamilton, the capital. Taxis, private transfers, rental cars and public buses connect the terminal with Hamilton, St. George's, the Royal Naval Dockyard and resort areas across the island.
With duty-free shops, restaurants, bars, lounges and modern passenger facilities, the airport provides a compact and convenient arrival and departure experience for visitors and residents.
