Dakhla Airport is the main airport serving the city of Dakhla and the surrounding lagoon region of Western Sahara. It is the primary gateway for travellers arriving to enjoy the area's kitesurfing, windsurfing and coastal resorts.
A modern passenger terminal opened in December 2010, covering about 2,600 square metres and designed to handle around 300,000 passengers per year. In February 2023, a separate terminal dedicated to business and private aviation was inaugurated, adding VIP lounges, meeting rooms and dedicated check-in and security areas.
The airport is located roughly 6 km from the centre of Dakhla. Taxis are the main way to reach the city, while private transfers, rental cars and hotel shuttles provide additional options for onward travel.
