Baracoa Airport (MGN)

Baracoa Airport is a small regional airport located northwest of Magangué, in Colombia’s Bolívar department. It serves the Magangué area and the surrounding Mojana region, mainly for charter, private, military and emergency flights, and does not currently operate regular commercial passenger services. Located roughly 12 km from central Magangué, the airport provides access to the city and nearby towns in Bolívar and Sucre. Historically it handled commercial flights by airlines such as Avianca, LANSA and Satena, but scheduled passenger operations ended in 1969. The airport has one main asphalt runway and a small passenger terminal. Operations are limited to daylight hours and focus on general aviation, state, ambulance and charter traffic. Travelers using Baracoa Airport can continue to Magangué and other regional destinations by taxi, pre-arranged private transfer or rental car, with onward road connections toward Cartagena, Sincelejo and other northern Colombian towns.
